About Dry Needling

Dry needling is a technique in physical therapy that offers benefits such as pain relief, improved strength and range of motion, and muscle function restoration. The procedure involves inserting a thin, solid needle into trigger points within muscles.

This triggers an involuntary muscle contraction or dull ache, which quickly fades. As a result, the muscle releases, leading to pain reduction, enhanced range of motion, and/or increased strength.

Some mild soreness is a normal response to dry needling.

Dry needling is most effective when followed by exercise and stretching, provided by the PT after dry needling.
